We do no identity checks at all when you download and register for Snoop. When you connect an account to Snoop we transfer you to your bank to do that - but you are just authorising them to share your information with us, and at no point does that process affect your credit rating.
If you choose to activate the credit score feature in Snoop, to give you your Equifax credit score we need to do a soft search on your credit file to verify you - this doesn't impact your score. A soft search is one that only you see on your file, not lenders - a hard search is one that lenders also see and they might use it when deciding whether to give you credit or not. When you sign up to see your credit score in Snoop, you’ll see a soft search appear on your credit file as ‘Snoop’.
